Reviews

These reviews have been taken from our Visitor’s books; and from comments made to us in emails.  We are beginning to collect online reviews through Social Media too, so please have a look there.  However, some of the nicest reviews have come in the form of paintings and artwork.  I guess you could say actions speak louder than words.   Some, we know the artist; others are just left behind for us to find.  We’ve kept them all and as you can see have done our best to display them for everyone to enjoy.

Having stayed in many cottages on the Norfolk coast, it is unusual for us to return to the same cottage twice; but Beach Cottage offers such an excellent standard in an ideal location that we are both looking forward to a return visit next year (DK, Beds)

This is a very special place. (Ms W, Sheffield)

We will really miss waking up to the sound and wonderful view of the sea. (Mr G, Hertfordshire)

You’ve made the Cottage a perfect retreat and have thought of absolutely everything. (AH, Norfolk)

I’d say this was a great family bolthole from which to explore north Norfolk – or indeed just enjoy a few lazy days on and above an outstanding beach. First impressions were of a light and airy haven from which to escape the February bluster.  And for the thrill of a comfortable campfire experience [in the Lookout) with a roof over your head and a panoramic view of the sea, it couldn’t be beaten.  You can either be out at the water’s edge within minutes, or, if you prefer not to get your feet wet, you can watch the rolling waves and ever-changing skies whilst staying firmly put.  I felt transported into an Enid Blyton adventure as we stoked up the fire, toasted marshmallows and watched the sun go down over the shoreline. And in case the 30 second walk to the kitchen was too much, there was even an in-situ fridge in which to store your lashings of lemonade or something a little stronger.  Whilst the kitchen drawers were stocked with gadgets for even the choosiest of chefs (chrome shellfish crackers anyone?) it was the provision for the smaller diners which won my respect. (Mrs M, London)

Another blissful week by the beach. Evenings by the wood-burner watching the ships pass by.  Days on the sand flying kites and soaking up the sun. Could it be any better? (KB, Norfolk)

The jewel in the crown is the Lookout, where you can spend endless hours whether outside it’s blowing a gale, brilliant sunshine or just grey skies.  (C&S, London)

I didn’t like the spiders in the Lookout. (Mrs G, London)

I loved toasting marshmallows by the stove. (Miss M, Sheffield)

The layout and facilities of Beach Cottage enabled us all to have a great time, either sitting, chatting (and drinking!) in the “lookout”; walking on the beach; or just relaxing in the garden. All the comforts of home and more! We shall all be back! (MF, Wellingborough)

Very well equipped, with the minimum of fuss. (C&S, London)

Dog walking on the beach and fires in the Lookout made it a real breathtaking holiday. (Miss M, Nottinghamshire)

I’ve rediscovered the joys of fossil hunting.  I really am turning into my Dad. (Mr B, London)

Very quiet and relaxing – people so friendly in the village (Mrs H, Norfolk)

The easily accessible village facilities are beyond adequate (Mrs C, Cambridge)

Went to Cromer.  I didn’t like it because Mum didn’t buy me anything and we had ice-cream, not cake. (Master W, Norfolk)

If you ever want to sell this beautiful place, then please give me a call …  (KH)
