There are lots of places to eat in Mundesley including cafes, takeaways and pubs. All of them are only minutes away from Beach Cottage.
The Ship Inn (01263 722671) has a bar menu and is also a very good restaurant serving local produce. It has a wonderful beer garden, very child friendly, with brilliant sea views. We recommend this pub for its food. Go out of the Cottage, turn left and you’ll see it on your left. (Dogs are allowed in the bar)
The Royal Hotel (01263 720096), where Nelson once stayed, does a good Sunday carvery. Go out of the Cottage, turn left, walk past the Ship, down the hill and over the stream, up the hill past the Lifeboat Station, follow the road to the right. The Royal is on your right hand side.
The Manor Hotel (01263 720309) has a restaurant which has regular Pie Nights, Steak Nights and a popular Sunday Carvery. The bar is a good place to have a drink, and soak up the classic Victorian architecture. Go out of the Cottage, turn right, go past the green and you’ll see the Manor on your right hand side. (Dogs are allowed in the bar)
Jonet’s restaurant (01263 720903) can be found just next door, overlooking the sea, to the left of Beach Cottage. It does very good breakfasts, hot meals (including their famous Sunday roast) and cakes. (Dogs are allowed)
The Corner House Cafe (01263 720509), great for a decent cup of coffee, can be found opposite the SPAR. (Dogs are allowed)
The Beach Cafe (01263 720608), on the beach, is open in the season. It serves classic ‘fast good’, and is very child friendly with its own play area. (Dogs are allowed)
The Fish and Chip Shop (01263 720486) cooks to order. Next door is a burger bar, for those who want meat instead of fish. Go out of the Cottage, turn right, cross over the zebra crossing infront of the Arcade. Go through the car park behind the Arcade, past the Outdoor Gym and Skate Park to your right, and over Gold Park. There is a small cutting opposite which will take you behind the houses and down a small street of terraced houses. Follow this to the end and you will end up in the Village Centre just near the post office. Turn left and you’ll see the fish and chip shop next door to the thatched florist.
The Village Chippy is a bit closer (01263 720565) – just next to the Manor Hotel. Go out of the Cottage, turn right. It’s a little shop between the Manor Hotel and the Corner Cafe. They cook everything in Beef Dripping, so not good for the vegetarians.
Hot Rocket Pizza serve wood fired pizzas from a vintage Citroen H van. The menu changes on a weekly basis and they often take the winter season off. Details of menu and locations can be found on their Facebook page.
The New Sage Chinese/Thai takeaway (01263 722828) is good. Go out of the Cottage, turn right and walk past the Manor Hotel on your right and the SPAR on your left. Keep going past the Haig Club on your right and you’ll find it on your right.
Jonet Restaurant. A friendly, good value, traditional cafe. Very close (next door but one)! Go out of the Cottage, turn left and it’s second on the left.
